Distinguishing features of the Visual Arts course include emphasis on practical studio-based learning, artistic excellence and relevance to the arts industry. Academic staff are professional artists and researchers who exhibit nationally and internationally. The Visual Art program allows for focused study in Painting, Printmaking, Sculpture, Ceramics, Drawing, Digital Photography and Art Theory. The flexible course structure allows students to study across more than one studio discipline.

The School of Arts and Social Sciences is located on the Lismore campus, between rainforest hinterland and the beautiful beaches and rivers of the far north coast of NSW, just 2 hours drive south from Brisbane and 40 minutes from Byron Bay. A huge range of arts and music venues, cafes, restaurants, festivals and weekend village markets serve the NSW North Coast’s unique artistic culture.
