Swinburne is ‘the finest film and video production school in the world’ according to Hunter Todd, Chairman and Founding Director of WorldFest Houston International Film Festival. In 2018 Swinburne's talented undergraduate filmmakers took home more than a dozen international film awards. Student and alumni films also screened in competition at the most prestigious global festivals including final year student film Paper Crane screening at the 68th Berlin International Film Festival and the Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF) and alumni feature-length film West of Sunshine at the oldest film festival in the world, Venice international Film Festival and then home to screen at MIFF. West of Sunshine was also nominated for Best Cinematography and Best Indie Film at the 2018 AACTA awards.
Swinburne is a full member of the International Association of Film and Television Schools (CILECT), the international peak body for film schools. Complementing our film and television achievements, Swinburne's new Bachelor of Screen Production equips graduates with the digital literacy and media production skills required to create content for new and emerging broadcast platforms distributed on mobile devices, for networked environments and via social media applications.
